MES-2026: Annual all-Russian scientific conference with international participation “Microelectronic Systems” to take place in Moscow in a renewed format
March 30, 2026
On May 27-28, 2026, the campus of the Skoltech will host the annual all-Russian scientific conference with international participation “Microelectronic Systems” (MES-2026) — one of the key events in the field of microelectronics.

The conference was founded in 2005 by Academician Alexander Stempkovsky and, for two decades, took place under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Sciences, becoming a respected platform for discussing advanced scientific and technological solutions in microelectronics. Starting in 2026, the Russian Academy of Sciences, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, AlphaChip Innovation Center, and the Skolkovo Foundation have agreed to jointly organize the conference in an expanded format, with support from relevant ministries and agencies, state corporations, leading universities, development funds, and major industrial enterprises. Among the founders are the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, VEB.RF State Development Corporation, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, the Russian Science Foundation, the Advanced Research Foundation, and the NTI Platform Autonomous Non-Profit Organization.

The General Sponsor of the conference is Sber. The event will take place with support from the Founder Sponsor, Gazprombank JSC, and Strategic Partner, NM-Tech LLC.

New Format of MES-2026

As a satellite conference to the Russian Forum “Microelectronics,” which traditionally takes place in the Sirius Federal Territory in the fall, MES-2026 will be held in a significantly renewed format. The decision to reformat the conference came in light of the priority directions for developing the country’s scientific and technological potential, as defined by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The conference’s new focus targets key technological challenges and growth points in modern microelectronics, including artificial intelligence, photonics, quantum technologies, innovative design and manufacturing methods, as well as specialized microelectronic systems for robotics, unmanned solutions, and space applications.

The conference aims to identify the most promising research directions for securing Russia’s technological leadership, build a highly professional talent pool, and create a platform for establishing new scientific and business connections.

MES-2026 will bring together over 500 scientists, engineers, developers, and experts in microelectronics. The conference is expected to serve as a significant professional platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on the development of microelectronic systems, related technologies, and their practical implementation.

“Supercomputer systems, quantum technologies, and artificial intelligence represent a new resource base for developing breakthrough ideas and achieving a qualitatively new level of technological development. MES-2026 will bring together leaders of science who will define the contours of this future and whose efforts focus on transforming technological solutions into real tools that are transforming industrial robotics, unmanned systems, space engineering, and many other fields. Our goal is Russia’s technological superiority and leadership,” said Alexander Stempkovsky, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, General Director of the AlphaChip Innovation Center, and Chairman of MES.

“Microelectronics underpins virtually all critical technologies: from artificial intelligence and telecommunications to robotics, space, and energy systems. Hosting the conference at Skoltech is a natural part of its mission as a university where research is built at the intersection of science, engineering, and industrial challenges, and where fundamental ideas become technologies and solutions in demand by the real economy. The conference will bring together researchers, developers, and representatives of high-tech businesses. It is in this dialogue that the new microelectronics is being shaped — more complex, interdisciplinary, and focused on specific applied challenges,” said Alexander Kuleshov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Co-Chair of MES.

Conference Program

The scientific program of MES-2026 will include five thematic sections:

  • Artificial Intelligence in Microelectronics and Microsystems — covering design automation and specialized hardware-software solutions for AI tasks.
  • Photonics — dedicated to optical methods of information processing and transmission, including for aviation and space applications.
  • Quantum Technologies in Microelectronic Systems and Sensors — including the development of ultra-sensitive quantum sensors and innovative approaches to quantum information processing.
  • Innovative Methods for Creating and Manufacturing Microelectronic Systems — covering advanced principles, packaging technologies, and heterogeneous systems.
  • Specialized Microelectronic Systems for Robotics, Unmanned Systems, and Space — focusing on applications in real-world high-tech systems.

The conference program will include plenary sessions featuring overview reports on achievements and decisions made, as well as scientific sessions by section, poster presentations, and roundtables dedicated to both fundamental research and applied developments. Proceedings will be published in high-ranking scientific journals, and the best materials will receive recommendations for presentation at the Russian Forum “Microelectronics.”

The organizers note that holding the “Microelectronic Systems” conference on an annual basis is key to building a sustainable scientific community and ensuring regular knowledge exchange in one of the country's strategically important industries.

The general information partner of the conference is the Technosphere Advertising and Publishing Center. Information partners include the Hi-Tech Mail media project, the TechInsider media brand, World of Robotics magazine, and the Science Mail media project.

Participation in the conference is free upon receiving accreditation. Detailed information about MES-2026, the conference program, and accreditation deadlines is available on the official website: https://www.mesconference.ru.
