The opening ceremony featured the unveiling of the installation “Spiky” — a collaborative work by Professor Alexander Korsunsky, Research Scientist Evgeniy Statnik, PhD student Iuliia Sadykova, and artist Olga Menzhiliy. The artwork, composed of long, curved stems with thorn-like elements, symbolizes the human condition and the personal boundaries we establish in our interactions with the world. Skoltech’s Hierarchically Structured Materials Laboratory, where the team thoughtfully selected materials and fabrication techniques to bring their concept to life, supported the project.

Another piece presented at the exhibition was “Reverse Bionics” by artist Lada Anikina and Professor Alexander Korsunsky. This work explores how technological tools can expand human perception while drawing inspiration from natural structures. It based on microphotographs of sporangia and pollen grains provided by Professor Korsunsky, transformed into a large-scale ornamental composition that brings microscopic imagery into the macroworld.

The exhibition is held in the MIPT Laboratory Building and will remain open through March 31, 2026. For more details, please visit the event’s official website.
